International Summer School for PhD Students

18 – 22 September 2023

The second PhD Summer School offered for PhD students from Warsaw University of Technology (WUT) and other universities of the foreign countries.

The aim of the school is to expand education in the field of WUT priorities and to improve specialized and soft skills. The school provides 50 places for participants and will take place 18 – 22nd September 2023 in Warsaw.

This year’s topics are Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. Lectures will be given by several professors, including Prof. Takafumi Matsumaru from the Waseda University (Japan), Prof. Gonzalo Napoles from the Tibulrg University (The Netherlands), Doctor Gabriella Casalino from University of Bari (Italy), and Prof. Karol Opara from Instytut Badań Systemowych (Poland). There will be held a Minisymposium as well, during which the participants will have an opportunity to give a short presentation. Estimated time for each presentation is around 10 – 15 minutes. Qualified participants are required to send a one-page abstract of their presentation on the template which can be found below with the essential documents and sent to the address: seed.mail@pw.edu.pl until September 10, 2023.

After completing the summer school, the participants will receive 2 ECTS credits.

In order to register to the summer school Project the candidates are required to fill out the online registration form, to submit the online abstract which should be aligned with the thematic scope of the Project: Artificial Intelligence and Robotics and select that they have got acquainted with the Regulations and shall abide by their terms (online).

Additionally, the candidates are required to send a document certifying the PhD students status from the home university which confirms the PhD student status both at the time of entering into the Project and its termination to the address: seed.mail@pw.edu.pl until September 10, 2023 at 23:59 CET.

 

The results of the registration process will be announced on September 11, 2023.

 

The summer school is carried out as a part of the ,,Smart Education for Engineering Doctors” project headed by Prof. Paweł Pyrzanowski, Ph. D, D.Sc.

The project is funded by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) within the STER Internationalisation of Doctoral School Program.

Each participant of the project is obliged to sign the following documents at the start of the summer school:

The above mentioned documents will be handed over to summer school participants during the first day of the project.

The project participation is free of charge. Foreign students who have been qualified for the project shall cover by themselves: the travel costs, insurance costs for the time of his/her stay. Organizers offer to foreign project participants free of charge accommodation from 18.09.2023 to 22.09.2023 (5 nights) and catering during the day (lunches and coffee breaks). On Thursday (21.09.2023) there will be a Warsaw trip with a guide along with a conference dinner which is also free of charge.
