Application for extension of the deadline for submitting the doctoral dissertation - IRP modification instruction

On June 17 (Monday), an application for extending the deadline for submitting the doctoral thesis will be launched in the USOS Web system, which will be active until September 2. The application will be available to PhD students of the 8th semester and beyond. Additionally, you must attach a modification of the Individual Research Plan, completed in accordance with the attached instructions.

Instruction of preparing an IRP modification when applying for an extension of deadline for submitting the doctoral dissertation. 

1. Terms for extension are regulated by § 18 of WUT Doctoral School Regulations. Please read them before submitting the application for extension. 

2. Modification of Individual Research Plan must be submitted on the currently valid IRP template. 

3. Modified IRP form must be signed by the PhD student and supervisor or supervisors.   

4. Scan of the modification needs to be attached to the application for extension.   

5. Modification should include the following: 

  a) The date of submitting the dissertation: 

  • The last day of the 2024/25 winter semester – when applying for extension for one semester; 
  • The last day of the 2024/25 summer semester – when applying for extension for two semesters. 

  b) In the field regarding the expected date for preparing publications, a list of published works must be provided, or in case of lack of such works – the expected date of submitting the publications for printing;  

  c) In the schedule a percentage state of conducting the milestones must be given for each of the semester 1-8 (when applying for repeated extension – for semester 1-9 or 1-10);  

  d) Schedule needs to be expanded on tasks and milestones planned for conducting during the next semesters within extension. They should correspond with the task not conducted to this point. 

6. Applications for extension with IRP not meeting the above mentioned requirements will be considered with negative result.
