15th Asia-Pacific International Conference

We are pleased to invite you to participate in the 15th Asia-Pacific International Conference, organised by the Asia-Pacific Research Center at Wroclaw University of Economics and Business in cooperation with Woxsen University, India.

The conference, entitled “Strategic Autonomy in a Multipolar Indo-Pacific: Trade, Security and the Reordering of Global Value Chains”, will take place on 24–25 November 2026 at Wroclaw University of Economics and Business, Poland, in a hybrid format, allowing participants to join either on site in Wrocław or online. English will be the main conference language.

Since 2008, the Asia-Pacific International Conference has provided a forum for dialogue between researchers, representatives of diplomatic missions, international organisations, public institutions and business. Previous editions have brought together scholars and practitioners from Poland and abroad, as well as ambassadors and other distinguished representatives of countries across the Asia-Pacific region.

An opportunity to present your doctoral research

We particularly encourage PhD students and early-career researchers to submit proposals based on their ongoing research.

The conference offers an opportunity to present and discuss research in international economics, international relations, international political economy and related disciplines, provided that the research addresses issues concerning Asia, the Pacific or the wider Indo-Pacific region.

Relevant topics may include, among others, international trade and investment, global value chains, regional economic integration, economic and strategic dependencies, foreign and security policy, international institutions, regional cooperation, geoeconomics, economic security, technology, development, and the changing position of Asian and Pacific economies in the global order.

Doctoral researchers are welcome to present findings from their dissertations, individual research projects or work in progress and to receive feedback in an international academic environment. Academic panels with research presentations and discussion will take place on 24 November 2026, both on site and online.

The conference may therefore be particularly relevant for doctoral candidates whose research concerns countries such as China, India, Japan, South Korea, ASEAN member states, Australia, New Zealand or other economies and societies of the Asia-Pacific and Indo-Pacific regions, as well as their relations with Europe and the global economy.

Registration and abstract submission deadline: 30 September 2026.

A reduced participation fee is available for PhD candidates and students. Participation in online discussions without a presentation is free of charge.
