III Competition - Announcement
We announce III Competition within NAWA PROM 2024/2025
Within 3rd competition of NAWA PROM 2024/2025, we accept all applications from PhD students and employees for financing short mobility leaves and arrivals lasting 5 days, including 2 days of travel time. Due to the budget constraints, the activities in the groups of countries with lower or medium costs of living and accommodation will be preferred (See Attachment 6).
The purposes of the trips should primarily concern the following main aspects:
1. PhD students from the Warsaw University of Technology or foreign PhD students:
- Obtaining materials needed to prepare a doctoral dissertation, including library research, familiarization with facilities, etc.,
- Carrying out short research studies or participating in experiments necessary to prepare a dissertation,
- Participation in a summer/winter school in order to familiarize yourself with topics similar to those covered by the dissertation and to meet people pursuing their doctorate and working as researchers from other countries,
- Active participation in a scientific conference (with a paper or poster presentation) in order to present the results of one's own research work and improve the skills of discussion in English on topics related to one's own scientific interests.
2. University employees (employees from NA and NNA groups), the main objective of the visit is to increase the internationalisation of the WUT Doctoral School by implementing such activities as:
- Establishing international contacts, including those concerning doctoral student mobility,
- Exchange of experiences regarding doctoral education,
- Development of principles for double diploma agreements,
- Establishing contacts with other universities in order to expand the teaching offer, including increasing the number of classes for doctoral students conducted in English.

- Activity period: 1.06.2025-20.09.2025
- Date of announcement: 02.04.2025
- Time for submitting applications: 07-28.04.2025
- Announcement of results: 12.05.2025
- Activity settlement: until 25.09.2025
- Number of places for PhD students from WUT: 20
- Number of places for foreign PhD students: 3
- Number of places for academic staff from Warsaw University of Technology: 4
How to submit an application?
The application form is available in the Regulations and attachments tab. There you should select the appropriate attachment from numbers 1-4.
- Attachment 1 – for PhD students of the Warsaw University of Technology
- Attachment 2 – foreign PhD students
- Attachment 3 – for employees of the Warsaw University of Technology
Note: The application for participation should also include attachments (marked in the application):
- Confirmation of acceptance for poster/oral presentation at the conference (if applicable)
- Confirmation of acceptance for winter/summer school/ internship/research and plan of stay from the host unit (if applicable)
- Other
Important: Applications must be submitted in English and the supervisor's signature is also required on PhD students’ applications.
Application guidelines for activity and travel dates:
- The activity date must be confirmed by a given attachment: invitation, plan of stay, conference or summer/winter school plan. Lack of an attachment or actual information will result in the application being sent back for correction or rejected for formal reasons.
- A maximum of 2 days for travel may be added to the indicated activity date. They can only be used as: 1 additional day for departure and 1 additional day for return.
- After completing the activity, the participant must settle the trip within 7 working days. This involves personally bringing the required documents and signing the settlement.
Application guidelines for real costs and flat rates:
- In the real costs section, only additional costs should be included, e.g. conference fee, summer/winter school fee.
- Real costs do not include costs covered by the flat rates payments, i.e. accommodation, travel and scholarship.
Financing – In Attachment 6 you can find flat rates that determine the amount of financing depending on the country and the daily scholarship rate depending on the participant's category.
The application must be completed and signed (written signature on a printout or electronically qualified). Then the completed application must be sent to the following e-mail address: projekt.sd@pw.edu.pl, where it will undergo formal verification.
Once accepted, the application will be evaluated by the Competition Committee, which will decide whether to qualify the application, put it on the ranking list or reject the application. Once the competition results are announced, we will contact qualified participants to provide further instructions.
