Admissions 2025/2026 Winter semester

We would like to inform you that on July 1, 2025 (00:00) admission for the winter semester of the academic year 2024/2025 to the Doctoral School of Warsaw University of Technology will begin. Candidates will be registered via the IRK system www.irk.pw.edu.pl. The IRK system will be open until August 5, 2025 (23:59).

Admission to the PW Doctoral School takes place in the form of a competition organized twice during the academic year, within the framework of individual scientific disciplines. A candidate for the Doctoral School may be a person who:

• has a Master's degree, Master of Science in Engineering or equivalent, obtained in Poland or another country,    

• obtained a grade of at least good on the graduation diploma,

• is not a PhD student at another doctoral school.

Registration of candidates for the Doctoral School takes place electronically using the IRK system. Before starting the recruitment process, the candidate should contact the potential supervisor of their choice in order to obtain their consent and determine the initial topic of the doctoral dissertation.

The condition for admission is to provide a complete set of required documents, obtain at least 60% of points in the competition procedure and be within the admission limit set for a given scientific discipline.

NOTE! Candidates holding a diploma of graduation from a country outside of the EU, along with the recruitment documents, submit a certified translation of the diploma into Polish language (if it is in a language other than English) and a diploma supplement, as well as a personalized certificate issued by the National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA), confirming whether the diploma is equivalent to a Polish diploma, entitles the candidate to continue their education in Poland and if it requires nostrification (formal recognition) or not.

If the Candidate is waiting for a certificate from NAWA at the time of registration, they should include in the IRK system the so-called recognition statement generated from the NAWA KWALIFIKATOR system and confirmation of submitting documents in the NAWA SYRENA system regarding the issuing of individual information about the diploma, confirming the eligibility of applying for admission to the School.

If such a candidate is admitted to the School, a personalized certificate from NAWA should be provided no later than within 3 months of starting education at the School.
